Weapons Policy

Weapon and prop policies for Zipcon 2014
(University rules take precedent unless exceptions for the convention can be made.)
- All weapons and props longer than 48 in. in any direction are to be inspected by security and tagged
- No Projectile weapons on any kind are permitted*, for example:
- Artificial or replica guns will be permitted pending review by security following these guidelines**
- NO LIVE STEEL. IN ANY WEAPON FORM. PERIOD.
o Commercial purchases must stay in container purchased in and be immediately taken to owners vehicle.
- All other props longer than 48 inches will be allowed on a case by case basis. To expedite the process contact cbp12@zips.uakron.edu, or post here on these forums, or the Facebook page, for prior approval and approval number.
* The only exception to this rule is on duty law enforcement officers
**possible exception for photo shoots and masquerade, pending security review and approval PRIOR to the convention. Prop(s) will be stored at security HQ with waiver until shoot or masquerade time and then either returned to owners vehicle or placed at security again until the time they leave.

o Dart guns
o Nerf guns
